All charts, depths, contours, tides, currents, wind, wave, and forecast data shown in this app are for general information and recreational fishing planning only. They are NOT intended for use as navigational aids or for safety-of-life-at-sea decisions.
Always consult official nautical charts (Australian Hydrographic Service / Australian Hydrographic Office), tide tables (Bureau of Meteorology), and current marine weather forecasts before going to sea. Carry appropriate safety equipment, file a float plan, and do not rely on this app for navigation, depth confirmation, or hazard avoidance.
1. Acceptance
By using BiteCast you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. License
BiteCast grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial fishing planning. Commercial redistribution of the app, its tiles, or its data is not permitted without prior written agreement.
3. Data sources
The app aggregates data from JAXA, IMOS / AODN, Geoscience Australia / AusSeabed, GEBCO, NOAA, DCCEEW, GBRMPA, OpenStreetMap, and the Bureau of Meteorology. Each source retains its respective rights. See the in-app attribution panel for license details.
4. No warranty
BiteCast is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement. Source data may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. Forecasts are forecasts — actual conditions may differ.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BiteCast and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to: loss of property, injury, loss of life, lost catch, lost time, or fines arising from fishing in incorrect zones.
6. User content
You retain ownership of your catches, trails, waypoints, and photos. By choosing to make a catch or waypoint "public" (a feature you must opt into), you grant BiteCast a licence to aggregate, anonymize, and display that data in heatmaps and summaries. We will never publish your individual records with your identity attached without your explicit permission.
7. Marine park compliance
Marine park boundaries shown in the app are sourced from government data and may not reflect very recent changes. Always check official zoning maps before fishing in any marine park. You are responsible for compliance with all fishing regulations.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the app at any time. On termination, local data on your device is unaffected; cloud data is deleted on request.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
