Built in Australia, for Australian waters.
BiteCast started because every fishing app on the market was either US-centric, generic, or both. Australian anglers were paying $300/yr for premium imports that didn't know about the East Australian Current, didn't carry AusSeabed bathymetry, and used American common names for fish we have different names for here.
What we're building
BiteCast is a fishing companion for AU waters: live oceanography, structured tackle attribution, social catch sharing, and an in-app AI that can see your map, your pins, your tackle, and the data — and answer real questions in plain English. Competitors give you a chart. We give you a plan.
The structured-tackle moat
Every other app stores bait as free text. BiteCast stores lures as structured attributes — type, action, depth class, pattern, UV, scented — so we can correlate “what worked under what conditions” across your catches, your friends' catches, and the broader user base. This compounds with usage. It can't be replicated in a feature update.
Why no app store?
We ship as a Progressive Web App and direct iOS/Android builds — not via the App Store or Google Play. That avoids the 30% platform tax, which we pass on to you in the price. It also means we can ship updates the moment they're ready, no review delays. Just bookmark bitecast.com.au on your phone and tap “Add to home screen.”
