Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-07

The short version

If you get charged by surprise — for example, you forgot to cancel during the trial — open the in-app Help, tap “Refund last charge,” and we process it instantly via Stripe. No human review, no questions, no friction. Eligibility is the most recent charge within 30 days, capped at one self-service refund per 12-month period.

1. Trial period

BiteCast Pro includes a 14-day free trial. A payment method is collected upfront via Stripe so the trial converts seamlessly if you decide to keep the subscription. You will not be charged at any point during the 14-day trial. Cancel any time from the in-app Account page during the trial and no charge is made.

2. Self-service refund window

If you are charged after the trial converts, or after a recurring billing date, you can request a refund directly from the app:

  1. Open the BiteCast app and tap Help in the Account menu.
  2. Tap “Refund last charge”.
  3. Confirm. The refund is processed via Stripe within seconds and you'll get a confirmation email.

Eligibility:

  • Most recent charge only (we don't auto-refund older charges via this flow).
  • Within 30 days of that charge.
  • Limit one self-service refund per 12-month period (to prevent abuse).

3. Outside the self-service window

If your situation falls outside the conditions above (e.g. older charge, multiple refunds in a 12-month period, billing dispute, etc.), email hello@bitecast.com.au with a description of the issue. We respond within 2 business days. Refunds beyond the self-service window are reviewed case by case but we resolve in the customer's favour by default — we don't fight reasonable refund requests.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the in-app Account page. After cancellation you keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period — we don't prorate-refund the remainder of an annual plan automatically (use the Refund flow above for that).

5. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If BiteCast fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement under those rights regardless of the conditions above.

6. Chargebacks

We'd much rather refund you directly than have you open a chargeback with your bank. Self-service refunds are faster (seconds vs. weeks), don't affect your credit, and don't cost either side anything. If you're considering a chargeback, please use the in-app refund flow first.
